BOX ELDER COUNTY, UT – Five teenagers were involved in a fatal collision in Box Elder County on Saturday reports KSLTV.
One of the teens was driving a Toyota 4Runner northbound on East Promontory Road near 2000 South when they drifted onto the east shoulder, crossed over to the west shoulder, and then overcorrected back onto the roadway causing the vehicle to roll over at least twice.
All five teens, who were not wearing seatbelts, were ejected from the vehicle.
An 18-year-old male was found deceased at the scene. A 17-year-old male was airlifted to an area hospital but succumbed to his injuries and died.
The three other teens, a 19-ear-old male, and two females aged 15 and 19 were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Authorities say they are all expected to survive.
Alcohol and speeding are both being considered contributing factors in the crash.
