Car falls into river, kills man, dog in Summit County

SUMMIT COUNTY, UT – After a car spiraled down a river and landed on its hood, it killed a 39-year-old man and his dog.

KSL said the accident happened early Wednesday near 4300 E. Weber Canyon Road in Summit County.

Deputies were dispatched at 6:10 am. When they arrived, they saw that the car was already flipped over and the man and his dog had died.

Law enforcement believes the man’s speeding and failure to navigate the curve in the road may have been a factor in the fatal crash. At this time, authorities do not know if the man was impaired or if there were other factors in Wednesday’s crash.
