Narrative
CARBON CO., UT – A head-on collision involving a semi-truck along the highway in western Carbon County killed a child and injured two others on Sunday.
The incident happened around 5 a.m. along Highway 6 at mile marker 223.5, which is near the town of Helper.
Police say that a westbound pickup truck veered onto the eastbound side of the highway and collided head-on with an 18-wheeler.
A 6-year-old rear passenger in the pickup truck was killed in the crash.
The two drivers went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
Authorities say that the driver of the pickup truck may have fallen asleep while driving.
