KAYSVILLE, UT – One person died, and another sustained serious injuries Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash along the highway in east-central Davis County.
The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. on UT-177 near 200 North in the city of Kaysville. This is about 23 miles north of Salt Lake City.
Police say they found a deceased driver in a Ford Truck that had crashed with another vehicle five hours earlier along the highway. The truck had travelled off of the roadway and was not spotted until around 6:30 a.m. by a passing driver.
Authorities say the truck had struck an overturned Chevy pickup that had crashed on the southbound side of the highway after the driver lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons.
