Narrative
SALT LAKE CITY, UT – A three-vehicle crash caused by a drowsy driver on a busy roadway in southern Salt Lake City injured two people on Tuesday.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. in the area of 2690 South 700 East, which is just northeast of Nibley Park Golf Course.
The investigation indicates that a southbound driver left the roadway and crashed her vehicle into a fire hydrant after falling asleep. The force of the collision caused the vehicle to overturn and re-enter the roadway. The vehicle was then propelled into two other cars on South 700 East.
Two people involved in the accident went to the hospital with relatively minor injuries.
