PARLEY’S CANYON, UT -A police chase that began in Summit County resulted in a serious accident at the entrance to Parley’s Canyon, injuring three people. According to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Terry Buck, the incident occurred on May 9th at about 2:30 a.m. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office had tried to stop a silver SUV at SR 224 and Bear Cub at around 12:50 a.m., but the car reportedly fled, prompting a police pursuit. As the SUV approached I-80 and I-215, it struck the median, flipped over, and crashed on the other side of I-215.
All three people who were in the SUV at the time of the crash, two women and one man, were taken to the hospital with severe but non-life-threatening injuries. Two of them were thrown from the car, while the driver had to be rescued by firefighters.
