Narrative
SALT LAKE CITY, UT – A woman in her 40s died Wednesday night after a vehicle struck her along a busy roadway before fleeing the scene.
The accident happened around 7:45 p.m. in the area of 700 South State Street, which is just south of E 700 S.
Police say the victim died in the ambulance while en route to the hospital. Authorities have not yet released her identity.
Officials are speaking with witnesses and hope to release a description of the hit-and-run driver and vehicle soon.
The investigation is ongoing.
