Narrative
GRANTSVILLE, UT – The driver of a towed vehicle died, and another driver was hospitalized Wednesday after a collision along a state highway near the Deseret Peak Complex.
The incident happened at 1:50 p.m. on UT-112 near mile post 2, which is south of UT-138 and near the Utah Motorsports Campus.
The investigation indicates that a towed vehicle with one occupant veered from the eastbound side of UT-112 to the westbound side of the road and struck a westbound vehicle. The occupant of the towed vehicle, identified as an elderly woman, died at the scene of the accident.
The female driver of the westbound vehicle sustained non-critical injuries when her vehicle overturned following the collision.
The driver of the vehicle towing the disabled car did not sustain injuries, nor was his car involved in the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
