RICHFIELD, UT – A teen passenger was killed in a rollover crash in west Richfield on Tuesday. Troopers with the Utah Highway Patrol say the driver of a Hyundai Sonata was traveling at an excessive speed for the road conditions, causing the vehicle to overturn.
One of the passengers, a 15-year-old male, was apparently standing through the sunroof, filming when the vehicle overturned. The teen was pinned underneath the vehicle as a result and died at the scene. Two other juveniles were also in the car, a 14-year-old male, and a 16-year-old male, and they sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. It is unclear who was driving when the crash occurred.
