Narrative
VIRGIN, UT – A driver fell asleep at the wheel near Virgin on Tuesday, causing a head-on collision that left four people injured.
The crash occurred at about 7:30 a.m. on UT-9 near Virgin.
Troopers say the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck drifted asleep behind the wheel, causing his vehicle to veer into the oncoming lanes and collide head-on with a Nissan SUV.
One victim was airlifted from the scene in critical condition. The remaining three injured in the crash were transported with non-incapacitating injuries.
It is unclear whether the Ford’s driver was injured in the crash.
