Narrative
WASHINGTON, UT – A cement truck and water truck collision in Washington County resulted in one person being hospitalized in serious condition.
Troopers say the water truck had broken down in the northbound lanes of I-15 near milepost 12, partially obstructing the right lane. While the driver was in the process of setting up caution triangles, the cement truck approached over the crest of a hill and only noticed the other truck at the last moment.
Despite attempting to swerve and avoid the water truck, the cement truck struck the rear of the vehicle. The cement truck then collided with the center concrete barrier before returning to the right, ultimately blocking all lanes of traffic.
The cement truck driver who was taken to a nearby hospital in a serious condition. The water truck driver was uninjured.
