Wrong-way crash kills 1 person, leaves 1 injured in Farmington

FARMINGTON, UT – A wrong-way driver traveling on Interstate 15 caused a collision that left one man dead and another severely injured, KSL reported

The crash happened at 3 am Saturday after a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck drove north in the southbound HOV lane, went off course, and rammed into a Toyota Camry, the Utah Highway Patrol troopers said.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with injuries, while the driver of the Camry, a man in his 20s, was killed as a result. At this time, the names of the drivers are unknown.

The driver of the Silverado pickup truck may have been traveling in the wrong direction due to alcohol, said Utah Highway Patrol troopers. The freeway at Park Lane was closed for four hours before reopening Saturday morning; the collision remains under investigation.
